Ben T. Burrows, Sr., 84, of Ooltewah, TN, passed away Wednesday, June 3, 2015. A native of Scottsboro, AL, he has been a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga area and was a member of the East Brainerd Baptist Church. He was an eight year veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp and was a member of the Carpenters Union Local #74. He was also preceded in death by his parents James and Ada Burrows. Survivors include his wife Katie Burrows; children Ben Burrows, Jr., Orange Park, FL, Mark Burrows, Chattanooga, Vicki Kirby, Signal Mountain, TN, Patricia Bell, Jasper, GA and Eric Burrows, Orange Park, FL; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren; half-sister, Sylvia Hill, Ooltewah. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the Valley View Chapel with the Rev. Brian Squires officiating. Interment will be in the Chattanooga National Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Sunday at the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory & Florist, 7414 Old Lee Highway.
