

Don was born to Mason & Mae Webb on April 3, 1942, in Hillsville, VA. After graduating from Hillsville High School in 1960, he continued his education at Virginia Tech until being drafted into the U.S. Army to serve in Vietnam during 1968-1969 where he was awarded the Bronze Star for gallantry.
During Don’s career years he worked at the Virginia Department of Highways, Western Electric in Winston-Salem, NC. and lastly, the Tennessee Valley Authority in Chattanooga from where he retired as a Project Engineer in 2003 after 27 years of service.
He was a member of Silverdale Baptist Church, Bonny Oaks Campus, where he attended the “senior over 70 men’s class.”
Don enjoyed following Virginia Tech Football and traveling around to different states to see U.S National Park’s scenery with his wife Bernice and dear friends Dane & Betty Weddle.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Bernice Hudson Webb; son, Timothy Brian Webb; granddaughters, Maggie Lynn Webb and Mackenzie Hammond, all of Chattanooga; sister, Iris Magruder of Martinsville, VA; niece, Elizabeth Magruder; nephew, Joseph (Jenna) Magruder, 2 grandnephews, Brendan and Connor Magruder, 1 grandniece, Rebecca Magruder.
Visitation will be 4-7 PM on Sunday, October 20, 2024, at the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, 7414 Old Lee Hwy. Chattanooga, TN 37421.
A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Monday October 21, 2024, at the Silverdale Baptist Church, Student Ministry Center, Bonny Oaks Campus with Rev. Tony Walliser officiating. Interment with military honors to follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens, Hixson, TN.
