Edith C. Malone

She was born on April 21, 1921 in Birchwood, Tennessee to the late Euford and Emma Cross. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar W. Malone, brother, Lewis Cross, two sisters, Clara Pickard, Mary Ivy, and a great grandson, Hudson Stock.

Edith loved to cook, quilt and garden. She also enjoyed reading the paper each day.

She was a member of Ware Branch Church of Christ in Harrison, Tennessee.

Survivors include her six children, Mary (Mike) Hodgetts, of Germantown, TN, Edward Wolfe, of Harrison, TN, Richard (Patricia) Wolfe, of Hixson, TN, Barbara (Jerry) Duke, of Franklin, TN, Anne Short, of Ooltewah, TN, Susan Murray, of Apex, NC, 16 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, two brothers, Randolph Cross, of Graysville, TN, Earnest (Dana) Cross, of Red Bank, TN, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, July 16, 2015, in the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Minister Doug Ferguson officiating. Burial will follow in Bald Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Wednesday and from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m., Thursday at the funeral home.
