He was the son of the late Carl and Ruth Roberson and was preceded in death by his guardians, Pearl and Luther Knox.
He was veteran of the U. S. Army and was of the Baptist faith.
Franklin retired from Combustion Engineering and was currently employed with Aztec Industries.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce Roberson, of Ooltewah, two children, Joe (Angela) Roberson, of Cleveland, TN, Kathy (Loretta Fortney) Roberson, of Athens, TN, two grandchildren, six great grandchildren, brother, Harold (Carolyn) Roberson, of Ooltewah, TN, and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday in the Chattanooga National Cemetery with Rev. Mark Barber officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m., Monday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans.
