James L. Brock, 72, of Ooltewah, TN, passed away Saturday, October 2, 2010 at his residence. A native of Warbranch, KY, he has been a resident of the Ooltewah area for the past 10 years. He was of the Protestant faith and was a retired School Administrator from the Dayton, Ohio City Schools. He was the son of the late Oscar and Ellen Frances Hall Brock and was also preceded in death by a brother, Dennis Brock and a sister, Glenna Sparks Smith. Survivors include his wife, Wanda Faye Brock; son, Monte (Dawn) Brock, Ooltewah; granddaughter, Cora Frances Brock; brother, Columbus (Della) Brock, Dayton, OH; three sisters, Freda (Gillis) Adams, Putney, KY, Diana (Claude) Jones, Brookville, OH and Patsy (Mike) Thomas, Dayton, OH; several nieces and nephews; dear friends, Joe and Dianna Rich, Ooltewah. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Jerry Massey officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the American Heart Association. The family will receive friends on Wednesday before the service from 12 noon until 2 p.m. at the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory & Florist, 7414 Old Lee Highway.
