James “Ken” Woodby, 61, of Ft. Myers, FL, passed away Thursday, July 1, 2021. A native of Chicago, he grew up in Chattanooga and was a graduate of Tyner High School. He was also a member of the Estero Baptist Church.
He was retired from the automotive industry having served as Financial Director. He received many awards such as Ford’s 300/500 Masters Award and Satisfying Customer Needs. He was a professional wrestler from 1979 – 1994 for NWA, WCW and WWF. In his spare time he enjoyed spending time with his family, attending church, being out on the golf course watching his grandson compete. He was also a big fan of the Tennessee Vols and the Atlanta Braves.
He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Woodby Sr.; mother, Gloria Woodby; son, Jacob Woodby; several aunts and uncles.
Survivors include his wife, Laura Ann Woodby; daughter, Jessica Woodby-Denema (Peter Denema); step-children, Haley Breece, Hollie Breece, Hayden Breece; grandsons, Job Kyle Woodby and Evan Dawes; brothers, David Woodby (Karla), Don Woodby (Lynn); sister, Pat Southern (David), several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 am Saturday in the Valley View Chapel with Pastor Chad Chandler officiating.
Interment will follow in Lee Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Friday and 10:00 am till the time of service on Saturday at the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory & Florist, 7414 Old Lee Highway.
