A graduate of Memorial High School in Evansville, IN, John earned his Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from Evansville College (now University of Evansville). He was a vice president at Shane Manufacturing Company, prior to moving to Largo, FL and working for Superior Surgical Manufacturing, first as the Corporate Manager in charge of Manufacturing, and later as the Director of Human Resources.
A lifelong train enthusiast, John’s hobby was model railroading, an interest he passed on to and shared with his son, Mike. He also enjoyed reading mystery and action/thriller novels.
John was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Joan Elizabeth (Haag) Lord, son, John Michael Lord, and brothers, William “Bill” Lord, James “Jim” Lord, and Charles “Chuck” Lord. He is survived by his daughter, Catherine Lord, and sister, Rita Phillips, as well as many nieces and nephews.
John was a loving father and devoted husband, kind, dependable, and a provider to the end. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
