John was a beloved husband, brother, father, and grandfather. He was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga area and was a member of The Lord’s House in Apison, TN.
John was preceded in death by his parents, John Earl, Sr. and Daisy Kathryn McKinley Ramsey; brother, Mark Russell Ramsey; sisters Amy Lynn Ramsey McCullough, Regina Ramsey Brewer, and Lean Ann Ramsey.
He is survived by his wife, Rita McDowell Ramsey; stepsons Travis Trueblood (Lauren) of Ooltewah, TN., and Jesse Trueblood of Nashville, TN.; sisters, Cynthia Ramsey Adair (Gerry) of Dawsonville, GA.; Jennifer Ramsey of Dalton, GA.; two children: John Earl Ramsey, III (Tashina) of Wildwood, GA., and Christina Dawn Ramsey Smith of Trenton, GA.; 5 grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Valley View Chapel with Pastor Donald Oliver officiating.
Interment will follow at Johnston Cemetery, 639 Sugar Creek Rd, Georgetown, TN.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. before the service on Wednesday at the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory & Florist, 7414 Old Lee Highway.
