Katelyn Anne Varnell

She was a 2024 graduate of Ooltewah High School and was currently attending Lee University in Cleveland, Tennessee to become a teacher. Katelyn served as secretary of the Radiant Ministries for Woman at Lee University and was a Skill USA alumni and past officer.

She loved music and Broadway theatre and was a collector of vinyl records. She was employed with Walmart.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents Jan Lund of Knoxville, TN, and Connie Lund of Chattanooga, TN.

Survivors include her father and mother, Marcus and Danyel Varnell, of Chattanooga, TN, mother, Elizabeth “Liz” Varnell, of Emerald Isle, NC, two brothers, Chase Varnell, Josiah Varnell, sister, TalaCatori Varnell, grandparents, Kary and Theresa Varnell, of Beersheba Springs, TN, Charlotte and Tom Rotrekl, of Corydon, IN, Darrel and Kim Furr, of Mt. Salon, VA, Terry Lund, of Knoxville, TN, and great grandmother, Carol Gaither, of Corydon, IN. as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

A celebration of life service will be held at 3:00 pm, Sunday, February 16, 2025, at Chattanooga Church, 6188 Adamson Circle, Chattanooga, TN 37416.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 3:00 pm, Sunday, February 16, 2025, at the church.
