Peggy was born and raised in Chattanooga. After High School, she graduated from the Chattanooga Cosmetology School as a certified cosmetologist. She had an artistic flair and enjoyed decorating her home with her special talent.
She is survived by her son, Wallace (Suzanne) Tallent, III; 6 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and sister, Sue Turner.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Allen Hays; parents, Ethel Mae and Hansard Holland; sons, Joe Tallent, Sr., Billy Tallent, Sr.; grandsons, Billy Tallent, Jr., Todd Tallent and Jacob Tallent; and sisters, Lena Anderson, Jenny Hartline and Evelyn Davis.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 AM on Friday, December 22, 2023 followed by a funeral service at 11 AM at the funeral home with Rev. Bruce Daughtery officiating.
Burial will follow at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
