Gaye, my sister and I visited our cousin Patty today and missed seeing Brian. As we left, we checked online and saw the obituary. We are heartbroken to hear that he has passed. It was a joy to know him. We are so sorry for your loss and will be keeping your family in our prayers. I feel honored to have met Brian several years ago when I traveled to Chatanooga with his Aunt Jan. Brain was very funny & had a great personality. He kept the nurses laughing too. Praying for your family and friends during this difficult time!

My Dearest Brian,

Words cannot express the raw depth of emotion & sorrow I feel at your passing, but the peace He gives assures my soul of the perfectness of His timing, love, & mercy calling me to relinquish my highest form of praise for His goodness.

He had a unique plan & purpose for you from the very beginning. Many years I did not know what it was as I watched you search, but kept faith that one day it would be revealed...& that one day came. 

"He left the 99 for the 1."

I watched as He reached into the wreckage saving your life. I watched as He spiritually transformed your heart & life into one of the brightest lights of His love that I've ever seen & in the darkest of places.  My faith was strengthened for 10 years day in & day out as we cared for you watching Him reach others through you.... through your smile, your continual kindness, your sense of humor, your words, your love, but most importantly, your testimony & witness of Him. Your light never flickered, never wavered, & never dimmed. 
Not once.

And now, even though my heart is heavy & full with grief that I can no longer hear your voice or touch you, I am filled with simultaneous joy knowing you are now completely whole & healed walking in His presence & reunited with Dad, Justin, & many other loved ones. I take comfort in knowing I will one day see you again better than ever. 

Brian, you finished your race.

Oh God, I truly know now how You & so many others felt when You experienced the death of Your only Son. The anguish you feel deep down in your soul is truly unbearable! However, I also know the great relief that I feel for Brian, knowing he is healthier & happier than he ever was on earth. 

Brian, the joy you must be feeling, knowing you can see & walk again, & being once again with your Lord Jesus Christ, & all of your family & friends. Wow! I'm so happy for you, son.

Brian will be greatly missed from his Standifer Place family!! He was always the center of any activities and loved to socialize with anyone here. His heart was one of the biggest of anyone I have met and he truly cared about everyone he met. I always loved how he was so outspoken about his faith and wanted to share it with everyone.

I will miss him pointing that little finger at me when he wanted to talk or had a question.

Much love to all of his family, especially his momma. We loved them dearly. 

Brian was a joy to be around.  He is definitely misssed. My prayers are with Miss Gay.  Brian is walking with angels and in no pain 

I met Brian thru his aunt, Jan Trinks, when I was caregiver for his Uncle Bob.   He was always with his Dad helping him with home improvements they did to his Aunt Jan's house.  I immediately became very close to Brian.  My love for this family knows no bounds.  We have remained close even after his Uncle Bob's death.  Brian and I had many wonderful talks.  Jan took me to visit him several times and I will always cherish those memories forever.  My love for this family knows no bounds.  They have treated me and welcomed me as a part of their family from day one.  When I would visit he always had a warm welcome for me and would tell me how glad he was to see me and how much he loved me.  I will cherish the memories of those visits forever.  I have prayed for him constantly since his accident 10 years ago.  I will miss going to visit him, but rejoice in knowing he is at perfect rest now and whole again. My love and prayers for the family and especially his mother who was by his side constantly being his prayer warrior, advocate and caregiver.  He was so blessed by his mother and also his sister Kami.  May God comfort you in the days aheads.  Love y'all so much.  Love, Miss Gladys.

Although I will miss Brian terribly,  I rejoice in knowing his suffering is over and he is whole again.  He was definitely a fighter and survivor these last 10 years!  Everything he went through since his accident, he never lost his sense of humor or sunny disposition.  He always would tell me he loved me several times when I visited him or talked to him.   When I came up for his baptism and his pastor asked him if there was anything he wanted to say he said, "yes. Jesus  is my Lord and Savior!"  When he said that, I can't  describe the feeling that came over me .  There is no doubt in my mind that his Dad, my brother, heard that in heaven and was so proud and grateful to hear Brian say those words.
Gaye, not only were you his mother; you were his advocate, prayer warrior, and caregiver.  He was truly blessed having you as his mother.
Kami, what an awesome sister you were to Brian.  It's not easy to watch your older brother, a vibrant, outgoing , people person endure what Brian did over the last 10 years.  You were always there for him. And not only him, but what a support system you were for your Mom.  I love y'all so much.   There is no doubt in my mind that you and Mom are the reason he was able to carry on as he did for as long as did.  He definitely fought the good fight and now he is resting in God's perfect peace.  May God comfort you in the days ahead.

                                           Brian and I shared many laughs through the years.     He taught me how to protect myself from a dog which was very important.    He also fixed my hose for me many times  so that it would not spray all over me.   I am so glad I got to talk to him a couple of times on the phone in the last couple of weeks.    I will be praying for you all.   Gaye you were a wonderful Mama to him.   I am so very sorry for your loss.   May He rest high on that mountain and all his pain is finally over here on earth.
