

She was the daughter of the late Sam and Sadye Gardner and was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Davis, sister and brother-in-law, Wynez and Vernon Keith Wroten and nephew, Richard Wroten.
Roberta was a woman of her time. In the 1940’s, she married Roy Davis. During the time her husband served his country over-seas, she packed parachutes for the Armed Forces. In the 1950’s she raised children, owned and operated Fashionaire Beauty Shop and Roy’s Restaurant on 58 Highway. In the 1960’s, she and her husband owned and operated WBHT in Brownsville, TN. In the 1970’s, she and her husband opened the first album oriented rock, FM stereo, radio station WSIM located in Red Bank, Tennessee (which is now WJTT). They hired the first female disc jockey. Roberta was a founding member of an organization for women in advertising. In her later years she traveled the world with her last trip to Jerusalem when she was in her 80’s.
She was a life-long member of Wheeler United Methodist Church in Wheeler, Mississippi.
Survivors include her children, Carole (Tom) Klimesch, Robert T. (Deborah) Davis, both of Chattanooga, grandchildren, Vikki (Ken) Shumake, Jay Clark, Emilee Davis (Brian) Wooten, Taylor Davis, great grandchildren, Jacob (Casey), Zack and Rebecca Hamby and Skyler Davis Craver, great-great grandchildren, Aiden Craver, Lilith Hamby, Iris Hamby and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 am to 1 pm, Thursday, October 15, 2015, at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, October 15, 2015 in the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Tyner Cemetery.
