Vonnie Everett, 89, of Ooltewah, TN, passed away Monday, November 28, 2011 at her residence. A native of Alabama, she has been a resident of the Chattanooga, North Georgia area for the past 50 years and was a member of the Ooltewah Baptist Church. She was the wife of the late Thomas J. Everett and was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Jo Brown. Survivors include her daughter, Janice (Glenn) Carroll; son, Garland (Patty) Everett, Atlanta, GA; four grandchildren, Austin and Wesley Carroll, Chris (Christina) Haire and Shanna Matthews; three great-grandchildren; sister, Sue Hulbert, San Antonio, TX. Funeral services will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Bill Owens officiating. Interment will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. (EST) in Crestwood Memorial Cemetery in Gadsden, AL. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 3-6 p.m. before the service at the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory & Florist, 7414 Old Lee Highway.
