He was the son of the late Thomas Nolan McKee, Sr. and Mary Kathryn Swanson McKee. Leon attended Orange Grove School and later worked for Cracker Barrel in Athens, TN. He had several hobbies, from mowing grass to collecting hot wheels to putting together model cars and trains. Leon loved to go fishing and later in life, he discovered the joy of painting.
He was preceded in death by his siblings, Edith Lucille Guffey, Jerry Laverne McKee, Thomas Nolan McKee, Jr. and Billy Jo McKee.
Leon is survived by his two sisters, Shirley Creasman and Geraldine Johnson; brother-in-law, Lawrence Ed Guffey; sister-in-law, Gladys McKee; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will receive friends from 12 Noon until 2 PM Thursday, February 8, 2024.
A graveside service will be held at 2:30 PM Thursday, February 8, 2024, at the Silverdale Cemetery with Bill Moore officiating.
