Barbara Ann Tverdek, née Kovarik, 84, longtime resident of Garfield Ridge and of Naperville, passed away on Sunday, February 21, 2021. She was born to the late Albert Kovarik and the late Helen “Nellie” née Boland; she was the beloved wife of the late Edward Tverdek; loving mother of Linda (Tom) Stachniak and Father Edward Tverdek, OFM; cherished grandmother of Hayley Michelle Stachniak; adoring sister of Lorraine (Gilbert) Sacco and Lila (Dale) Kingsnorth; treasured aunt of Dale Kingsnorth, Diane (Bob) Swiderski, Laurie (Leon) Karjaka, Sandy (Julie) Kingsnorth, Frank (Lisa) Tverdek and Valerie (Wayne) Kuhl; and a great aunt to many nieces and nephews. She was a graduate of St. Christina Grammar School and Maria High school. She was a resident of Mays Lake Village for 8 years. She loved flowers and tending to her gardens where she enjoyed watching the birds, ducks and geese.

In lieu of flowers, due to Lenten season a memorial contribution in honor of Barbara would be appreciated to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or St. Patrick’s Residence (Naperville) or Naperville Senior Center. Visitation will be Saturday, February 27, 2021 from 10:30am to the start of Mass at 11:30am at St. Daniel the Prophet Church, 5300 S. Natoma. Interment St. Mary Cemetery.
