In Loving Memory of Bruna Castillo de Almazan October 6, 1933 – July 19, 2025
With hearts full of sorrow yet deeply grateful, we honor the beautiful life of Bruna Almazan, a devoted wife of late (Benjamin Almazan Vaglienty) mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and quiet pillar of faith. Her hands knew the rhythm of family—stirring, kneading, and knitting love into everything she touched.
Bruna’s kitchen was the heart of the home, where her famous flour tortillas, gorditas, mole and tamales nourished generations and her warmth fed our souls. In her garden, flowers bloomed under the care of her green thumb, mirroring the love she cultivated in each of us. Through her sewing and knitting, she gifted personalized pillows—each stitch a testament to her thoughtfulness and celebration of life's milestones.
She was survived by her beloved children: Lucia A. Botello (late Frank V Botello), Lourdes Almazan (Adrian Barrientos), Alejandro Almazan (Patricia Almazan) and Angelica Almazan, beloved sister Monica Castillo de Meza and preceded in rest by her late children Benjamin Jr., Roberto, Elisa, and Sonia Almazan, whom she now embraces again in eternal peace.
16 Grandchildren, Sonia Godina, Arturo R Almazan, Melissa Almazan, Roberto A Almazan, Benjamin Almazan III, Christen R Almazan, (late) Gina Almazan, Elisa Botello, Jessica Botello, Frank Botello III, Andre Botello, Santiago Botello, Lucia (Cha-Cha) Botello, Robert Guerrero, Alejandro R Almazan, Marissa Almazan and 20 Great Grandchildren.
Her legacy is one of caretaking, prayer, and presence. Before every farewell, we’d say, “See you tomorrow Ma,” and she’d respond with “Si Dios Quiere.” On July 19, 2025, God did not will tomorrow—but Bruna’s spirit lingers in every hug, every shared meal, and every whisper of prayer for our safety.
Her life was a devotion—a quiet, powerful love that will echo through our stories, recipes, gardens, and pillows for generations to come.
