(Rosalinda), Ricardo (Rose), Rene (Marianne), Rosalyn (Jorge), and the late Roberto
(Sandra), and the late Ruben; Cherished grandfather of Annette, Jessica, Jesse,
Jennifer, Adriana, Jacqueline, Jeanette, Josefa, Nick, Jorge, Jazmine, and Janae.
Great-grandfather of Taylor, Roberto, Fernando, Alize, Melanie, Victoria, Jeremiah,
Jayden, Avani, Nayeli, Jorge Emilio, Jason, Noel, Amiyah, Magdalena, Olivia, Nila,
Jianna, Kaylani, Christopher Cruz, Lucciano, Cattleya, Lorenzo, Rosalie, and the late
Camila Erica Martinez; Great Great-grandfather of Enzo, Analeyah, and Zariah. Loving
brother of the late Santos, the late Erasmo, the late Dora, the late Ernesto, and the late
Lenda.
Dear son of the late Ernesto Alejandro, and the late Dora C. Alejandro. A man
whose presence brought warmth, strength, and comfort to all who knew him.
Elmo lived a life rooted in quiet strength and deep devotion. He took pride in hard work,
spending years as a butcher in a local meat factory and also working as a building
service worker at UIC to provide for his family. These jobs may seem humble to some,
but to those who knew him, they were a reflection of his character- dependable,
resilient, and selfless.
But Elmo’s true life’s work was his family. He was the kind of man who didn't need grand words to show his love. It was in the way he showed up, day after day. In the meals he made, the stories he told, the quiet
sacrifices he made that no one saw but everyone felt. His laughter was contagious, his
advice was gentle but wise, and his presence made you feel safe - like no matter what
was going on in the world, everything would be okay as long as he was there.
He taught us the meaning of loyalty, of hard work, and of love without condition. He
loved deeply and was loved even more in return. The world feels a little dimmer without
him, but the light he gave us - in his lessons, his love, and his spirit - will never go out.
Though we mourn his passing, we celebrate the beautiful, meaningful life he lived and
we hold onto the comfort of knowing that his love surrounds us still. He may be gone
from our sight, but never from our hearts.
“You were our foundation, our quiet strength, and the love that held us together. We will
carry you with us, always.”
