Geraldine “Jeri” Szymusiak

Geraldine “Jeri” Szymusiak, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 12, 2025, at the age of 86. A lifelong resident of Chicago, Illinois. Jeri touched the lives of many with her warmth, wit, and unwavering love for her family and community.

Jeri was born on November 10, 1938. She is survived by her devoted husband, Joseph B. Szymusiak, with whom she shared a life of deep love and partnership.

She was the proud mother of Joseph G. Szymusiak (Diane), and Jeff Adler (Rachel). Her legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren: Ashley and Nicole Szymusiak, and Ben and Tommy Adler—each of whom brought her great joy.

Jeri was deeply involved in her community and was known for bringing people together with kindness, generosity, and an open heart. Whether volunteering her time or lending a hand wherever it was needed, she made a lasting impact on those around her.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Leroy Wozniak (Iris), and is also remembered as a beloved great-aunt to Olivia Wozniak and Grace Albrecht (David). She is survived by other loving relatives and lifelong friends whose lives she enriched over the years. She will be deeply missed, but the love she gave and the memories she created will live on in all who knew her.

Visitation for Geraldine will be on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM., at Ridge Funeral Home, 6620 West Archer, Chicago, IL. 60638.
