Dr. Ambrosio "Butch" Manuel de la Cruz

At 86 years old, Dr. Butch journeyed his final, well-lived life on All Saints’ Day, November 2, 2025, in San Diego, CA. It was a serene passing in the loving embrace of his daughter, Marlyn Ferrer.

Dr. Ambrosio “Butch” Manuel dela Cruz, was a loving and thoughtful father & father in-law to Marlyn and Jethro, a loving grandpa to Jade, Nikki and Miko.

He was fondly addressed as the respectable “Eming” by his sisters, Mrs. Teodocia Aglibut† and Mrs. Ester Pableo. He will be missed as “Uncle Butch”, “Grandpa & Lolo Butch” by his nieces and nephews, grandchildren, & great grandchildren. As well as by members of Aglibut, Pableo, Manuel, Angunlan, Dela Cruz, Buendia, & whole beloved family clan & circle of friends from the Philippines, United States and Asia.

Widely known by his colleagues as “Dr. Butch”, his educator life story was focused mostly on his highly competent leadership, academic improvement, seminars on organizational & human resources development, thousands of classroom lectures, and for as long as he was able in his last years and months, he devoted his precious hours on online lectures & webinars. The University of the Philippines, Centro Escolar, University of Santo Tomas, De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde, Colegio de San Juan de Letran, St. Scholastica’s College, College of the Holy Spirit, Galang Nursing School, Harris Memorial College, San Beda College Alabang, St. Paul College, Philippine Christian University, Mary Johnston College of Nursing, Southville International School, La Verne College, University of Southern California, Troy State University, and University of Maryland University College (UMUC) were the prestigious institutions where Dr. Butch showed his inspiring academic success & professional proficiency. In his capacity as consultant, Dr. Butch passionately delivered enriching seminars under his Asian Human Resources Management Consultant (AHRMDCO) training services where he is the CEO.

His professional proficiency was backed by his established and extensive Directorship experience in Training and Organizational Development at the Sheraton Group of Hotels in Hong Kong, Australia and the Philippines. He became a consultant of PLDT (Philippine Long Distance & Telecom Company) for many years, including Gillete Phils and The Westin Philippine Plaza to name a few. His valuable and empowering insights will continually be well noted by his students and colleagues.

Beyond admirably, as precious Dad/Uncle/Grandpa-Lolo, Dr. Butch had sprinkled the fruits of his exceptional work ethic and pieces of his wisdom to each of his family. Those eternally worthwhile lessons he shared with each of them will be kept in each of their hearts. The Bible verse he chose to display in his beautiful house states, Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know my plans I have for you, “declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.”

With thankful hearts to our awesome God, the celebration memorial service of Dr. Ambrosio “Butch” Manuel Dela Cruz, Ph.D. to honor his steadfast life that was abundantly full of richly blessed affections and connections will be held on his birthday, December 9, 2025, at Funeraria Del Angel, Chula Vista, 753 Broadway, San Diego, CA, USA.
