Ana Maria Flores

Ana Maria Flores, "Anita", 86 years of age, of San Diego, passed away on July 11, 2016, surrounded by her family. Anita was born in Jalpa, Zacatecas, Mexico on May 20,1930 to Salvador and Antonia Flores.

Anita married the love of her life, Manuel Flores, affectionately known as "Minito", on February 19, 1951. They were blessed with 65 years of marriage and 10 children. Anita's passion in life was to take loving care of her large family. She enjoyed cooking their favorite dishes and was selfless in all she did for them throughout the years. She loved music, dancing and singing. Often, while taking care of her daily chores, she would sing and dance as she worked making her family smile. When she found spare time on her hands, arts and crafts were her favorite hobby. Anita never forgot the allure of her hometown. She would comment that her best vacation times were the ones when she went back to her hometown of Jalpa, Zacatecas. Anita was a longtime dedicated member of St. John of The Cross Catholic Church in Lemon Grove.

Anita is predeceased by her husband, Minito. She is survived by her 10 children, her legacy of 16 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. In addition, she is survived by 4 siblings. She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.

A visitation will be held at Funeraria Del Angel Humphrey, 753 Broadway, Chula Vista, California, 91910 on Sunday, July 17, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

A funeral mass will be held in her honor at St. John of the Cross Church on Monday, July 18, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. A funeral procession will follow the mass to Holy Cross Cemetery, where she will be laid to eternal rest next to her beloved Minito.
