Ernesto Millan Gilongos, 77, of El Cajon, California, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 3, 2023. He was surrounded by his loving wife Lilian and his two sons, Lester and Godfrey. Ernesto was a supportive husband, loving father and loyal friend, he will be missed.
Born in Iloilo City, Philippines, Ernesto joined the US Navy in December 1968. He served 20 honorable years and retired from the Navy in July of 1990. After retirement, Ernesto worked helping the veteran community at the Department of Veteran's Affairs, San Diego. Beyond his professional life, Ernesto cherished his wife, sons and daughter in-laws. Ernesto treasured his four grandchildren; he would often spend his time watching them play together.
Ernesto and Lilian married in March 1976 and welcomed their first son, Lester, in December, 1976. Ernesto and Lilian welcomed their second son, Godfrey, in November of 1979.
Ernesto is survived by his wife, Lilian; his sons Lester, wife Maylene; and Godfrey, wife Lisa; his sisters Ofelia G. Buyco and Lea G. Conjusta.
Ernesto leaves behind four grandchildren that will cherish his loving memory.
