Dear Uncle Hector,
Thank you for including me in your wonderful book of life. You have many chapters and I am eternally grateful to have been included in a few pages. Your book of life has so many chapters that many of us solemnly revisited as we celebrated your life in your passing. We reflected on your many happy chapters and some challenging and sad chapters all contributing to a full life. My first memory of you was when you picked up our family at Los Angeles Airport and drove us all down to Chula Vista for a stay in the summer of 1969. You laughed at how impatient we were over the long drive ( having come from a small island only 30 miles long you mused at how we did not tolerate long drives). Over two summers you tried to make a baseball player out of me and took me out camping and rabbit hunting. You shared with me how you and my mother loved to dance and often would go dancing. My mother shared with me how protective you were of her. As I visited during your time of declining health, I saw even more of the strength you showed us all over your life. You had a wonderful powerful influence to many and now hopefully are  again dancing with my mom. Rest In Peace.

My Viejito , you were my hero. You always gave me the time even when it was something simple to answer. I don't have anyone any more to pick on Mom. Remember Dad sometimes we'd sit their & just laugh & Mom, What are you guys saying. Having the opportunity to work with you, was something I will treasure. So many memories I have of you Dad. Taking care of you & doing our dancing, nobody can ever take that away from me. I know that you will continue to take & watch over us.  Always in my heart. I miss you forever. Love you

What can I say about my Dad other than he set the bar as a Husband, Brother, Son, Nino, and most of all Father.
He was determined to get what he wanted, first by starting his career to seeing that woman who was to become his soulmate within 3 months of courting her. 

It’s obvious he was loved and that he touched so many people ♥️

Some of my fondest memories of Dad:

Friday nights were about eating chips & onion dip while watching Benny Hill....... We waited until Mom went to bed thinking she wouldn’t know .

Saturday mornings were all about the kids waking Dad up by jumping on the bed & him making us breakfast.

Singing “ I found a peanut” while chillin during a day at Silver Strand Beach.

However HIS favorite story to tell about me was when I would go to the store with him and I would always sneak in something for him to buy me (most of the time a candy bar) and how he could never say no, I was the epitome and will forever be Daddy’s little girl. 


Hector, mi amigo. We had good times at Chu Hi. I remember your happy smile in spite of the horrific accident you endured. You always had a positive outlook on life and displayed a gentle nature.
I turned 85 this last July and at our age we accept passing as a way of continuing life in another place. I know you will continue in that better place. Have a good journey.

Dear Tata, 

I thank you for allowing, and embracing, me into this family.  I love all the memories with you, and I will miss you.  I will keep my promise when I said I will take care of my mom, as you raised her the way a parent should, with much encouragement.  I am leaving you $5 so you can always know how much you meant.  If there is an afterlife and you are able to read this I want you to know that I will always be by my mom’s side. I will remember every memory that I spent with you, and will forever hold a spot for you in my heart.

Dad,

We will no longer see you, hear your voice, and feel your hugs, however you will be forever in our hearts.   I wish you a well desire rest, and know you are cherishing all the activities, and savoring foods, you so missed.  Enjoy telling your stories with all those you are now with.  There are so many lessons from you, to name a few, was to work hard, be responsible, and take ownership of one's decisions.  Thank you for you, validation, agree to disagree, honesty,  and dedication to family.

My favorite memory of my Dad, so many of them... He was the best Dad to me. Taught me so many things. 
Certainly a funny memory: The time I told him I was going on a date with a navy service man. Hmmm, his comment was, 
 “You know those navy boys only want one thing” 
Thank you being the best dad a girl could ever ask for, you never fell short of providing me what I needed in life . RIP Dad, you are forever in my heart❤️
