Long time resident of Chula Vista, Doris "Jeanne" Norman, passed away at age 85 of natural causes on 6-19-14 at 10:00 p.m. Jeanne worked at McClendon's Jewelers on 3rd Avenue as Store Manager for 25+ years. She and her husband Don also owned the Silver Dollar Restaraunt for some time. Jeanne graduated from Sweetwater High School in 1946. She had a strong and loving Oklahoma heritage--and thrived on family and friends. Jeanne inspired her children with love and joy. She delighted in cooking a wonderful Sunday afternoon meal and having the whole family over weekly. Jeanne grew up on a farm and developed a strong work-ethic which she would later teach to her two children. Truth, honesty, and the Love of the Lord were her armor-of-defense against an imperfect world. She loved to laugh and would say,"That struck me so funny", and would laugh again for days over the same thing with her genuine and gentle giggle. Jeanne is survived by her two daughters, Debbie and Missy (" Lisa"); three granddaughters, Aimee, Stephanie, and Kristen; two great-grandsons, Elijah and Jaxon; and two of her four siblings, Billie and Judy. Jeanne will be very dearly missed by all who knew her. Memorial services will be held on July 6, at 1:00 p.m. at Humphrey's Mortuary (Funeraria Del Angel Humphrey), at 753 Broadway, Chula Vista, CA.
