Jesus Ortega Catubay

passed away on Tuesday, November 14, 2023. Jesus

was born in Quezon City, Philippines to his mother Felisa

Catubay and his late-father Benjamin Catubay.

In 1989, Jesus would enlist in the United States Navy

where he would serve 30 proud years, eventually retiring

from his military service in 2019 at the esteemed rank of

Master Chief. While serving, Jesus received numerous

accolades and achievements including Navy and Marine

Corps Commendation Medal (6), Achievement Medal (4),

Good Conduct Medal (10), Armed Forces Expeditionary

Medal, Iraqi Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism

Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service

Medal, and others.

During the time of his military service in 1990, Jesus was

stationed in Long Beach, CA where he reconnected with

his childhood friend Gina. The two would eventually fall in

love, get married, and move to the Bay Area where they

would witness the birth of their three children: Jean

Clarisse, Justin Christian, and Julian Christopher.

Jesus enjoyed traveling the world, experiencing new

foods, singing karaoke, and dancing the night away with

his beloved family and friends. He was known for his

infectious smile and his willingness to help anyone in

need. Through the countless lives Jesus has touched, he

will leave behind a legacy of happiness, kindness,

generosity, and love.
