

Louise Frances Hubbard was born on August 25, 1923 in Leominster, Massachusetts to Charles and Marguerite Hubbard. She grew up there along with her brother Elbert Hubbard. She took seven years of voice coaching and opera and became an accomplished pianist. She and two friends at Worcester college sang at local venues in the area. She also sang for the USO, where she met her husband Dr.Ernest Puck Jabour. After college, she moved to his hometown, Vicksburg, Mississippi while he was in the army in New Guinea. She graced several churches with her beautiful voices while she was there. After the war, they moved to Montgomery Alabama where Ernest started a medical practice and where they had three children. Her domestic duties kept her close to home-family came first. But she managed to perform at local musicals such as Oklahoma and South Pacific, and finish college. Her husband died in 1968.
She moved back to the New England area where her mother was, and worked at The Institute of Living in Hartford. After her mom passed away, she explored the country, living briefly in Oregon and Colorado before finding her utopia of San Diego, Ca. in 1977. She worked for Dr. Brahme as an Administrative Assistant at UCSD VA Hospital. There she met John O’Neill who she married and lived in Clairmont Mesa. She retired in 1989. She had a strong faith and was in the choir and very active in the Episcopal church, St. Andrews by the Sea. She was an extremely giving and good natured person. She supported the San Diego Zoo and Wild Animal Park. Being an outdoor nature person, she loved to entertain on her patio ornate with flowers and bird feeders. She was also very active all her years, ice skating, skiing, and attending the gym until recently. She had an amazing spirit, always lifted and happy. She loved people, and shared this gift, lifting the spirits of those around her. She passed away at Meritus SNF in Del Mar, after being there for only one day for rehab, at 91 years young.
She is survived by her sons Rick and Rhett Jabour, daughter Sandy Whittington, stepson Bob O’Neill, grandchildren Anya Jabour, Colby Miller, Darren Jabour, Jamie, Marcus, and Sammie Montoya, and Destin Whittington.
Service will be held Thursday February 5th at 2:00 p.m. at St. Andrews by the Sea Episcopal Church, 1050 Thomas Ave. San Diego, Ca. 92109, 858-273-3022.
