

He is survived by is wife Nancy,Sons Scott, Stuart and Slade Shepherd, daughter Stacy Billings, Daughter-in-Laws Fujiko Shepherd, Carmen Shepherd and Son-in-Law John Billings.
Morris was born on May 4, 1919 in Maxia Texas. His Father Burton and Mother Mary moved throughout Texas during those years teaching.
Morris attended High School in Kilgore Texas and was a star Football, Basketball and Track athlete. At graduation Morris was offered several opportunities
for further education: a scholarship from Texas A&M for football, but was disappointed that they did not offer track. He decided to leave Texas, move West
and enroll at San Bernardino Junior College for one year, than to follow his heart to and move on to San Diego, to attend San Diego State College in the
fall of 1941.
After one year he volunteered to join the Army Air Corp. and served as a traffic air coordinator. After being honorably discharged, he returned to San Diego
State to play football and run track. During his senior year, he earned the most valuable player for football, playing every minute during the season.
He then earned his Master's Degree in Physical Education.
In 1948, he taught and coached at Vista High School. His Varsity team went undefeated and was unscorred upon during league play. He then took a job
at Chula Vista High School.
During this time he met his wife, Nancy Norton, who recently moved to California from Pennsylvania.
After 3 years, Morris took a job in Northern California at Sir Frances Drake High School in Marin County. During this time he became the Head of the Drivers
Training Department for the Tamalpais School District.
He lived in San Anselmo where he raised his four children. He retired in 1981 and moved back to Spring Valley, to be near his college buddies.
Morris loved golf and played into his early nineties, while on many occasions shooting lower then his age. His favorite course was Bonita Country Club
that he played twice a week for 35 years. He was an avid bridge player with his wife Nancy He will be greatly missed, but never forgotten.
