Pete Garcia

On March 26, 1951 he married the love of his life, Josephine Castillo. They were blessed with sixty-six years of marriage and seven children.

Pete had a career with General Dynamics working as a maintenance mechanic for 38 years until his retirement. He was a member of the Machinist Union. One of his favorite hobbies was golfing and was a member of the Bonita Men's Golf Association & LGSCE. He was a member of the Garcia & Family Santa Maria Tri-Tip Bar-b-queing Club. Pete also had a passion for bowling, baseball and gardening. Additionally, he proudly served in the National Guard.

Pete is survived by his wife, Josephine Garcia, his children; Yolanda Rodriquez, Joe Garcia, Leonard Garcia, Carlos Garcia, James Garcia and Olga Lopez. His son Roy Garcia predeceased him in 2002. In addition, his surviving legacy includes twenty-one grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. He has three surviving siblings; Helen Enriques, Andrea Montes and Rudy Montes.

A celebration of life and visitation is being held at Funeraria Del Angel Humphrey, 753 Broadway, Chula Vista, California, 91910 on Sunday, February 26, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church on Monday, February 27, 2017 at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in San Diego, California.
