Richard D. Curley was born on October 2, 1917 and raised near Philadelphia. In his youth he attained a Bachelor’s in Commerce from Drexel and served in the US Army (attaining the rank of Captain) during World War II. After discharge from the Army, he served as business manager at Mount Hermon Association near Santa Cruz and later joined the newly-established Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, California. In his many years there as business manager — rising to Assistant to the President and Board of Trustees – he showed his many gifts of capable service to many causes. In his active retirement — and when grandsons began arriving in 1985 — he and Lois, who remained his loving wife for 57 years, moved to San Diego where among many other activities he served on mission boards within the Presbyterian church. Richard passed peacefully into the promised life of glory on July 22, 2013, and is survived by his son, daughter, and two grandsons.
