

Roberta "Berta" was born in Youngstown, Ohio on September 12, 1934. She attended Cleveland Community College, and proudly received her Associates' degree as an Accredited Records Technician. On November 14, 1979 she married James L. Horton Jr. and was blessed with nearly 35 years of marriage.
Roberta permanently relocated to San Diego after coming out to visit her brother, Ronald White. She had a career with Kaiser Permante Medical Facility in their Medical Records Department. Roberta lived her life with passion, enjoying visits from her siblings still living in Ohio. After retirement, she enjoyed spending her leisure time playing Bingo anywhere in Vegas and back! Bowling in team leagues was also a passtime she participated in. Plaza bowling lanes in National City, California, remember Berta as a long standing player to claimed many a trophey for her efforts.
Roberta is predeceased by two sons, Lorenzo Green and Joseph Johnson. Surviving members of her family include her husband, James L. Horton Jr. of Chula Vista, California, her children; Loretta Kilgor, Eugene Warner and Josie A. Green, all of Cleveland, Ohio. Step-son Kenneth Keyes of Port Arthur, Texas. Her legacy includes 12 grandchildren, a host of great and great-great grandchildren. Five surviving siblings; Ronald White of Chula Vista, California, Clair White of Springfield, Ohio, Robert White Jr. of Columbus, Ohio, Darla Traylor and Joyce Woods of Youngstown, Ohio.
A memorial funeral service will be held at Funeraria Del Angel Humphrey, 753 Broadway, Chula Vista, California, 91910, on Friday, September 19, 2014 from 6p.m. to 8p.m.
