Rod graduated from Monte Vista High School and received an Associates Degree from San Diego State University. His partner in life was Frederick Yeager, whom he met on Christmas of 1990. Rod had passion for art work and enjoyed his career as a broker in the Art Industry. He was a member of the Buddhist Society. Rod's other passions included traveling and spending time with his family.
Rod is survived by his companion, Frederick Yeager, his sister, Sherry Lynne Stokes, his brother, John Stokes, his niece, Gia Stokes and four nephews; Zane Stokes, Arturo Stokes, Antonio Stokes and Leonardo Stokes.
Visitation and funeral services will be held at Funeraria Del Angel Humphrey, 753 Broadway, Chula Vista, California 91910 on Saturday, July 16, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. Entombment will follow at the Bible Mausoleum at Greenwood Memorial Park in San Diego, California.
