Roy Lee Hedges

Roy Lee Hedges passed away on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 in his San Diego home. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Gregoria, his stepson Jose Alfredo, stepdaughter Maria, and son’s Roy Jr. and David along with several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Roy was a caring and amazing man and friend.

Roy was born in Richmond, Virginia on April 27, 1942 to Carl Curtis Hedges and Doris Elaine Cox. In December, 1963, Roy enlisted in the US Navy to serve a four- year term as an Electronics Technician during the Vietnam War. Upon honorable discharge from the military in 1968, Roy began his life long career as an Installation Technician for Western Electric. He enjoyed traveling around the world with the company and continuously shared those memories with his grandchildren. Roy enjoyed fishing, eating at local restaurants with friends and family, and spending his weekends at the swap meet.

A viewing will be held on Friday, February 3, 2017 from 5 to 9 PM at Del Angel Humphreys Mortuary located 753 Broadway Chula Vista, CA 91910. A burial will take place at Glen Abbey Cemetery at 1PM located at 3838 Bonita Rd. Bonita, CA 91902.
