It is with sadness that we note the passing of Ruby Mae (Borchers) Clark. For the last 12 years, Ruby was a resident of Fredericka Manor Care Center in Chula Vista, California. She is survived by her son, Ross Clark, his wife, Kay, her brother, R. L. Borchers and his wife Kathryn. Ruby was widowed from her husband, Raymond Carl Clark when he passed away June 2, 1993. A memorial service will be held in Greeley, Colorado in the near future and she will be buried at Linn Grove Cemetery in Greeley.
Ruby was the first child of Otto and Bertha (Oster) Borchers. She was born in Clinton, Oklahoma on November 13, 1923. Ruby grew up in Oklahoma, Lamar, Colorado and Gilcrest, Colorado where the family farmed. She graduated from Gilcrest High School and briefly attended college in Greeley before joining the Navy WAVES. After being honorably discharged at the end of WW II, Ruby married Raymond Clark and took up residence in San Francisco, California. Later, Ruby and Ray moved back to the Greely / Gilcrest area where their only child, Ross was born on June 9, 1952. Over the years, Ruby, Ray and Ross lived in Denver, Kansas City, Yuba City, CA and Atlanta before retiring with Raymond in Greeley.
Ruby held part time jobs as a clerk and bookkeeper but her primary job was as a homemaker. She also served as a hospital volunteer. She enjoyed reading, gardening and bridge. She will be much missed by all who knew and loved her.
