Virginia Frances Hernandez

Virginia Frances Hernandez, of Chula Vista, passed away at home at the age of 90 years old. A lifetime native of San Diego, she was born on April 16, 1924 to Eufracio and Porfiria Montalvo. She married her best friend, Jose Hernandez, and was blessed with a family of four sons; Steve Hernandez of Lakeside, Mark Hernandez of San Diego, Larry Hernandez of Chula Vista, and Gene Hernandez.

Virginia was a longtime member of Our Lady of Angels Catholic Church in San Diego. Her passion if life was to care for her family. She enjoyed cooking delicious Mexican dishes for her husband and four sons. She will be remembered as a loving and good natured woman, who always had a smile on her face. Predeceased by her husband, Jose Hernandez, son Gene, and grandson Scott, she is survived by her three sons, Steve, Mark and Larry. Her legacy includes three grandchildren; Eric Hernandez, Jessica Padilla-Hernandez. and Lisa Hernandez. In addition, one great- grandchild, Alex Roland Hernandez. Survived also by her brother, Gustavo Montalvo.

A celebration of her life and viewing will be held at Funeraria Del Angel Humphrey, 753 Broadway, Chula Vista, California, 91910, on Tuesday, December 16, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at 12 noon at the funeral home. Interment will be next to her husband at Holy Cross Cemetery in San Diego, California.
