

He was born Agawam, MA on December 27, 1927. He was the son of Mary and Thomas Green both immigrants of Lebanon. He Married Wanda F. Green on July 16, 1953 after a courtship of one month. They shared sixty - two years of marriage together.
Ed loved sports and played semi-pro football in Agawam, MA, where he resided until he turned eighteen and joined the Navy. After 2 years service, he was honorably discharged and settled in California and gained employment with the Southern pacific Transportation Company. He started his railroad career as a telegraph operator and advanced to a dispatcher position, retiring after thirty-seven years. During this time he had 4 children.
Ed's enjoyment in life was relationships. He coached Pony League baseball, leading 4 teams to championship seasons. He also coached girl's softball, volunteered at the Senior Gleaners, was an avid bowler and golfer, and enjoyed cruising with Wanda. He loved going with his family to the harness races and the strategy of handicapping. Above all else, Ed cherished his family and valued every moment with them. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
he is survived by his loving wife Wands; 4 children Gail (Dan) Annett; Stephen (Susan) Green; Lynn (Tim) Mitchell; Kevin Green. He was blessed with 6 grandchildren; Kristina Forsberg, Brian (Jenny) Forsberg, Chelsea (Chris) Cumiford, Zach Green, Mikaela (Curtis) Hudson, Michael (Ann) Mitchell; and 7 great-grandchildren, Racine and Marisa Robson; Paige, Bailee, McKenzie, and Parker Forsberg; and Cal Hudson. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Mary Green, brothers Joseph, Peter, Albert, George and Michael, and sisters Josephine Green and Josephine Paige.
Services will be held at Sylvan Cemetery, 7401 Auburn Blvd, Citrus Heights, CA 95610 on Friday, December 4th at 2:00 pm under the gazebo. Burial will follow in the Veteran's Court of Honor. Reception to follow.
