Lillian S. Chan, 73, passed away peacefully in San Francisco on Thursday August 19, 2021. She joins her beloved husband, Clifton Chan, who passed in 2005. The eldest of 6 children of David and May Chin, Lilly was born on April 17, 1948 in Providence, Rhode Island. She is survived by her mother, her two sons, Robert Chan and Phillip Tow, daughter in law, Yanna and grandchildren, Emily and Cody. She loved her brothers, sister, and the entire extended family
Lilly worked at the Department of Health and Human Services as a Federal employee for over 33 years. She was also an active member of the Square and Circle Club, the first and oldest Chinese/Asian American women service organization in the US. She treated all her friends and coworkers as family and was always willing to help those in need. She was easy going, funny, kind, caring, and considerate. Lilly never wanted any attention for herself. She wanted everyone to remember how she was, full of life and happiness. Memories of her selflessness, compassion, charm, and beautiful smile will continue to live in our hearts. (LA)
There will be no funeral services at this time. The family will hold a "celebration of life" at a future date and location.
She requested no flowers be sent, but please consider donating to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation or to the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund.
