

Barbara Chism Strain, 72, went to be with the Lord on February 21, 2011. Funeral Services will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday, February 24, 2011 at Calvary Baptist Church in Colorado City, TX, with Dr. Travis Monday officiating . Burial will follow at Handley Cemetery. There will be a family visitation from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at Funeral Home.
Barbara is survived by Children: Michael Brooks and wife Nancy of Crockett, Tx , Mark Brooks of Mesquite, TX, and Misty Brown and husband Aaron of Abilene. Sisters: Roeburta Henderson of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Maxine Nelson and husband Farris of Hobbs, New Mexico, and Janie Henderson and husband Robert of Colorado City. 5 Grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Barbara was born December 23, 1938 in Colorado City to parents James Marion and Lillie Hamrick. She married Charles Ross Strain February 1967 and lived in Colorado City most of Life. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Barbara enjoyed doing arts and crafts, reading, pictures, snow and water skiing , and was a manager of softball functions. Barbara most of all loved being around and caring for her Children and Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by: Husband Charles Ross, 2 brothers: Truett and Quinton, and her parents.
Pallbearers will be Scott Nelson, Brian Nelson, Dick Bratton, Michael Nelson, Zack Mowery, and Homer Matlock.
