Billy Earl Box

He was born in Sweetwater on February 25, 1951 to Chester and Mary Mash Box.

Billy was a wonderful man who loved to joke around, but could be very serious, especially when it came to working, which is a value that he passed down to his sons. He had a career working in the oil fields as a Superintendent of oil and gas. He was a patient man taking time to teach and motivate not only his children but those that he worked with. His biggest traits were his faith in God, his love of family, and his honest and humble nature. He was a member of the Colorado City First United Methodist Church and of the C. City Riders. In his spare time he would travel, his favorite place to go was to the Rockies in Colorado with his wife Jackie, they also made sure to go to as many Spurs games as they could get in together. Besides traveling and going to watch the Spurs Billy was an avid fisherman and loved to go out hunting.

Billy is survived by his wife Jackie whom he married on January 25th in Crane 43 years ago. Also surviving are his children; Gregory Earl Box, wife Laci and their children Graci and Ty all of Midland, Justin Box, wife April and their children Kirt and son Haydn, Victoria, Corbin, Austin, and Ella all of Aledo, and Billy Keith “B.K.” Box, wife Mesha and their children Payton, Hanson, Pierson, and one more on the way all of Cibolo. Others that survive Billy are: his mother Mary Box of Crane, his brother-in-law Robert West of Arkansas, and his nephews Roland and Randy Elrod.

He was preceded in death by his father Chester and by his sisters Margaret West and Earline Elrod and her husband A.L. Elrod.

A memorial service for Billy will be held at the First United Methodist Church of Colorado City on Friday, March 11th at 11 am with the Rev. Larry Bass officiating.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Kiker-Seale Funeral Home.
