Mr. Catarino Silva

Catarino Silva, age 86, of Colorado City, died Wednesday evening in a local care center. Services will be at 3 PM Saturday at Primera Iglesia Bautista El Calvario with Rev. Felix Silva officiating. Burial will follow in the Mitchell County Cemetery under the care and direction of Kiker-Seale Funeral Home.

Mr. Silva was born on May 16, 1927 in Colorado City to Sabino and Ildefonsa Gomez Silva and had been a lifelong resident of Colorado City. He married Paulba Rocha on October 12, 1950 in Colorado City. She preceded him in death on May 20, 2007. He was a retired oilfield worker and a member of the Primera Iglesia Bautista El Cavario Church.

He is survived by a daughter, Irene and husband, Henry Pequeno of Abilene; 3 sons: Felix and wife Erlinda Silva, Joe and wife Hilda Silva,David and wife Laura Silva all of Colorado City, and Raymond Silva of Midland. He is also survived by 24 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren, along with 3 sisters.

Family visitation will be from 5 until 7 PM Friday evening at the funeral home.
