Dorothy "Dot" Lee Fortenberry Oliver

Mrs. Oliver was born November 6, 1926 in Scurry County to John Dennis and Margie Sparrow Fortenberry. She married Wayne Oliver on August 11, 1945 in Mitchell County. He preceded her in death on August 24, 1996. She was a nurse at Johnson’s Hospital in Loraine and then at Root Memorial Hospital in Colorado City for 44 years. She was a member of the Loraine First Baptist Church.

She is survived by 6 daughters: Sheila and husband Gerald Owen of San Antonio, Debbie and husband Ronnie Blair of Kerrville, Rhonda and husband Steve McCollum of Midland , Vicki and husband Johnny Bland of Kerrville, Brenda and husband Jeff Oliver of Loraine and Margie and husband Bruce Cobb of Canyon , 17 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild; a sister, Wanda Durham of Riverton, WY, a brother, Edward L Fortenberry of Highland Village, TX; 4 sisters-in-law: Jean Fortenberry of Indianapolis, IN, Helen Merrick of San Angelo, Christine Oliver of Roscoe and Jerri Oliver o Lovington, NM.

She is also preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers and 2 grandsons, Brandon McCollum and Patrick Oliver.

The family will receive friends 6-8 PM Monday at the funeral home.
