Eugene Edward White

Eugene E “Big Gene” White, age 86, of Loraine, died Thursday evening in a Sweetwater Hospital. Services will be at 3 PM Monday in the First United Methodist Church in Loraine with Revs. Horace Abbott and Keifer Cauble officiating. Burial will follow in the Loraine Cemetery under the care and direction of Kiker-Seale Funeral Home.

Gene was born on August 19, 1929 in Hutchinson, KS to Jess and Jessie Cooley White and had been a resident of Loraine since 1983. He attended schools in Hutchinson for 12 years. He married Patricia Eisiminger on June 29, 1963 in Las Vega, NV. He was a retired heavy equipment operator.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Pat White of Loraine; two daughters: Valerie and husband, Virgil Pruitt of Roscoe and Barbara and husband, Dwane Jones of Pratt, KS; a son, Mark and wife Laura Segraves of Washington, DC; 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; his mother-in-law, Ruth Eisiminger of Partridge, KS; a sister-in-law, Ernestine and husband, Kenny Sivils of Nickerson, KS.

He is preceded in death by his parents, a son, Eugene “Little Gene” White, a daughter, Patty Lynn White and his father-in-law, Floyd Eisiminger.

The family will receive friends 3-5 PM Sunday at the funeral home.

The family suggest memorials to the Roscoe Volunteer Fire Dept. in Roscoe, TX or the 1st Southern Baptist Church Bldg Fund in Pratt, KS.
