Mrs. Evangeline Inez Howell

Inez Howell, 94, of Big Spring, passed away November 19, 2012 at Park View Nursing Home. Funeral service will be 2 PM on Friday, November 23, 2012 at Kiker-Seale Funeral Home in Colorado City with burial will follow in the Colorado City Cemetery.

Mrs. Howell was born October 27, 1918, in Sipe Springs, TX. Inez had been a resident of Colorado City for 62 years. After the passing of her husband, Holly, she moved to Big Spring to be closer to her daughter and family. She married Holly Howell on February 27, 1940 in Colorado City. Mrs. Howell was an LVN at Root Memorial Hospital in Colorado City for 50 years, from December 5, 1943 until December 31, 1993. She TRULY LOVED every minute of her work, retiring at the age of 75. She was a member of the Mitchell County Lions Club for 10 years; a member of the LVN Association of Texas; and a member of Oak Street Baptist Church.

Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Kay and Joe Clark; two granddaughters, Gwen Kincheloe and husband, Bob; and Kim Rubio and husband, Fabian; two great-grandsons, Jonathan Rubio and wife, Katee, Jarred Rubio and wife, Rachel, all of Big Spring; one great-granddaughter, Jessica Rubio of Austin; four great-great grandsons, Lawson, Mikah, Noah, and Kade Rubio all of Big Spring. She is also survived by one brother, Eugene Brown and wife Cleta of Marshall, TX; sisters-in-law, Lucille Brown of Pilot Point, TX, and Friday Moore of San Angelo; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Howell was preceded in death by her husband, Holly Howell; parents, Jeff Morgan and Annie Mae Brown; siblings, Ralph Brown, Aliene Horn, Dorothy Saddleburg, Thelma Short, and Wayne Brown; and nephews, Maurice Short and Larry Hollewell.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Mitchell County Hospital or the charity of your choice. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Kiker-Seale Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6 until 8 PM at the funeral home.
