Geneva B. Ratliff

She was born on July 15, 1931 in Munger, Texas to Bertie and Josie Holman Bairrington.

Geneva and W.A Findley were married July 31, 1948 and shared 46 ½ wonderful and busy years. They enjoyed cross country motorcycle trips, flying across the country in their airplane and time with their family before his death in 1995. Geneva married Robert “Bob” Ratliff Jr. in June of 1999. Geneva and Bob were blessed with 17 years together before his death in 2016.

Geneva was an avid bowler, loved to play bridge and was an amazing cook. Her heart and soul belonged to her family and the Colorado City ISD where she worked for 37 years. She began in 1965 as a school secretary and retired in 2003 as the Business Manager, Tax Assessor/Collector. Geneva just couldn’t retire her business mind and served on the Mitchell County Hospital Board for several years after her retirement. Geneva loved Colorado City and its residents. She was a dedicated member of First Methodist Church.

Survivors include her son; Wayne A. Findley and wife Stefanie, grandchildren; Nikki Findley-Stephens and husband Sam, Zach Findley, Wade A. Findley and wife Courtney, Mitchell Findley and wife Simone, great-grandchildren; Corbin Aufill, Savannah Shiller, Krista Findley, Peyton Findley, Landri Findley and Harper Findley several nieces and nephews and by the family of her second husband Robert “Bob” Ratliff Jr.

She was preceded in death by her parents Bertie and Josie Bairrington, by husbands W.A. Findley and Bob Ratliff, by a son Macca Findley, and by her siblings Dwayne Brigance, Ralph Bairrington, Dutch Bairrington, Mildred Maddox, Juanita Jordan, Weta Reeves, and Bertie Jo Weaver.

The family will be present for a graveside service on Monday, December 21st at the Colorado City Cemetery at 2pm with Doctor Jerry Shields officiating.
