Georgia Ruth Lankford

Mrs. Georgia Lankford, age 93, of Big Spring and formerly of Colorado City, died Sunday evening in a Big Spring care center. Services will be at 2 PM Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at the Westbrook Baptist Church with Dr. Jerry Shields. Burial will follow in the Trinity Memorial Park in Big Spring under the care and direction of Kiker-Seale Funeral Home.

Mrs. Lankford was born March 1, 1920 in Loraine to Roy and Beulah Wiley Haggerton and had been a lifelong resident of Mitchell County. She married Troy Lankford on May 24, 1938 in Hermleigh. He preceded her in death on April 28, 1983. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church in Colorado City.

She is survived by a daughter, Darlene Pirkle Edwards of Big Spring; grandchildren: Jay and wife, Lynn Pirkle, Kevin and wife, Elsa Pirkle, Kris and wife, Andrea Pirkle, Bradley Scott Mott and Donnie and wife Tiffany Lankford; great grandchildren: Haley Pirkle, Caleb Pirkle, Hunter Pirkle, Addisen Pirkle, Kanen Pirkle, Troy Pirkle, Kennedy Pirkle, Tayler Stacker, Wm. Doyce Lankford, Heather Mott, Alexis Mott and Ashley Mott; and 1 great-great grandson, Coleman; a nephew, Derwayne Rasco and a niece, Dolores Jenkins.

She is also preceded in death by her parents, 1 sister, Elizabeth Rasco, a son, Doyce Lankford and a son-in-law, Lacy Edwards.

The family will receive friends 6-8 PM Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at the funeral home.
