He was born on December 9, 1937 in Westbrook to Robert Leonard and Maxine Sweatt Morris.
After graduating from high-school Grady joined the United States Army to serve his country. After his service Grady spent many years doing many different jobs, but was most known for his job as an Auctioneer. Those that knew Grady knew he had a very dry sense of humor, often times giving sarcastic answers when people asked questions or even coming off as a bit ornery. Grady was huge into family, sacrificing his free time to be there for them whenever they needed him. Whether it was watching his grandchildren’s sporting events or helping his children or many friends. He was a proud yet humble man who was not afraid to give people chances. In his spare time he could be seen building things with his daughter, golfing, or watching or participating in rodeos as he would ride broncos in his younger years.
Grady is survived by his three daughters; Lucinda Denise Morris of Colorado City, Lori Baldwin and husband Tommy of Hermleigh, and Loretta Morris Lewis of Colorado City, and by his grandchildren Becky Speer, Crystal Martinez and husband Rufino, Thad Jones and wife Dana, Josh Baldwin and fiancée Tiffany, Brandi Wemken, Kayce Ellis, Kayla Ellis, Kolton Ellis, and Kassidy Ellis. Also surviving are his great grandchildren Syrrah Tenorio, Matthew Jones, Alex Tenorio, Destiny Tenorio, Dylan Speer, Ethan Speer, Katlyn Martinez, Landon Martinez, and Aubrey Baldwin, and by 2 sister-in-laws Joy Morris of San Angelo and Jane Morris of Farwell, and by a brother-in-law Walter Jordan of California.
He was preceded in death by his wife Molly, his sister Carolyn Jordan, and by his brothers Sherrod (Mac) Morris and Russell Morris.
A funeral service for Grady will be held on Sunday, January 24th at 2pm at the First United Methodist Church of Colorado City with Rev. Larry Bass officiating. Burial will follow in the Westbrook Cemetery.
A visitation for Grady will be held on Saturday, January 23rd from 5-7 pm
