Iva Loretta Mosher

Iva Loretta Mosher, 84, Loraine passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Bronte, Texas on August 16, 1935 to Grover Cleveland and Susan Adeline McKinney Young. Iva was a fiercely independent woman who devoted all of her time and energy to her family and those that she loved. She was the type of woman who never knew a stranger, nearly everybody that knew her referred to her as grandma. If she loved you, you knew it, and if she had it she would certainly give you her last dollar if you needed it. She was a wonderful wife and a great mother and grandmother. In her spare time she enjoyed making cakes for birthdays, which she never missed one, making people quilts, reading Louis L’amour books, doing crossword puzzles, as well as jigsaw puzzles. She was a decade long cancer survivor, beating the odds when she was told that she had just a few months to live. If one were to look up the word determination in their dictionary they would find her picture next to it. She truly was a gift to her family and those that loved her and will be dearly missed. Iva is survived by her sons; Allen Mosher and wife Margie of Moran, Darrell Mosher of Ft. Stockton, Tommy Mosher of Loraine, and Anvil Mosher Sr and wife Misty of Loraine, by her daughters Lynn Maldonado of Snyder and Sally Ballard and husband Mike also of Snyder. She is also survived by her brothers James Young and wife Bertha of Lufkin and John Young and wife Diane of Indianapolis Indiana, his sisters Martha Seaton of Wilberton Oklahoma and Sue Anne Barnfield and husband Larry of Houston as well as by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father Grover Cleveland Young, by her mother Susan Young Krone, by her husband Anvil Mosher, a daughter Sue Bryan, a grandson Christopher Mosher, by two brothers Clifford Young and Mack Young, and by two sisters Jo Chappell and Deane Hughes. A graveside service for Iva will be held on Thursday, July 2nd at 10 am in the Lone Wolf Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please consider donations to the Lone Wolf Cemetery Association or to any veteran or cancer society Arrangements have been entrusted to Kiker Seale Funeral Home
