

She was born in Lytton Springs Texas on February 14, 1944 to Eloso and Aurora Yruegas Gutierrez.
Luiza was a strong Christian woman who dedicated her life away from home to the 22nd and Austin Church of Christ, the church she loved. While Luiza did not have any biological children, she had many nieces and nephews she treated as her own children and they in turn treated her as a second mother. She was a stern yet fair woman and her family would do for her as she did for them, with unconditional love. In her spare time she enjoyed gardening and being involved in every activity the church hosted.
Luiza is survived by her sisters Amelia Lopez of Austin, Lilia Espinoza of Colorado City, Juana Perez of Sweetwater, Maria Contreras of Colorado City, Beatrice Gutierrez of Sweetwater, and Esperanza Cobos of Colorado Springs Colorado, and by a brother-in-law Mario Cobos. Also surviving are 39 nieces and nephew, and by many great and great-great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Eloso and Aurora Gutierrez, by her husband Ramon Tavarez, by her sisters Anita Alcantar and Dalila Torrez, and by her brothers Eloy Guitierrez Jr., and Jesus Gutierrez.
A funeral service for Luiza will be celebrated for Luiza in the Kiker Seale Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, January 18th at 2pm with Tony Angel officiating. Burial will follow in the Colorado City Cemetery with pallbearers being Ezequiel Gutierrez, Gabriel Gutierrez, Jaime Gutierrez, Wilde Wilkinson, Salvador Alcantar, Israel Perez, and Fernando Espinoza.
The family will be present for a visitation on Wednesday, January 17th from 5-7pm in the Kiker Seale Funeral Home Chapel.
