June 23, 1929 to February 1, 2024
It is with joyful sadness we announce the passing of Margaret Ann Trigg Sparks, who was born on June 23, 1929, in Fort Worth, Texas. Margaret's life was marked by her adventurous spirit as she accompanied her family throughout Texas, as her father was a dirt contractor. At the tender age of 14, she settled in Eastland, Texas, where she met the love of her life, Ben Sparks. Their first date, a memorable squirrel hunt, and their first kiss on High School Hill set the stage for a lifelong love story.
Margaret graduated from North Texas State University, earning a degree in Home Economics. She began her professional journey as a home demonstration agent in Cleburne, Texas, after completing her education. On August 19, 1950, Margaret and Ben exchanged vows in Eastland, Texas. While Ben was stationed at Naval Air Station, they resided in Fort Worth. Ben passed away on February 11, 2022.
In 1950, Margaret and Ben made their home in Colorado City, Texas, where Margaret dedicated herself to the field of education for an astounding 38 years. She specialized in reading and dyslexia, serving as a Certified Language Therapist. Margaret's passion for helping students and her unwavering commitment to their success left an indelible impact on countless lives throughout her career.
Margaret was an active member of several esteemed organizations, including the Colorado City Garden Club, Delta Kappa Gamma, and the Texas Retired Teachers Association. She embraced the opportunity to contribute to her community and make a positive difference.
