He was born in Bethpage, TN, April 6, 1946, to Howard and Ethel Burroughs. Bob met and married the love of his life Jean Flanagan July 3, 1976, in Colorado City, Tx. He then became a bonus dad to Corey and Kristi Dawn Flanagan.
Throughout his life he held many jobs from being a truck driver, mechanic, and millwright to a farmer. He loved to tell stories about all his crazy experiences. He had a heart of gold and would do anything for those he loved. Bob’s pride and joy was his 3 grandsons that he had a hand in raising. Nathan, Pip and Trinnon. He often referred to them as “His boys.” His boys loved the time they spent with their Pawpaw whether it was hunting, fishing, or just hanging out at the farm. There were always lessons to be had. He also enjoyed trips home to Tennessee to not only visit his family, but to show off “his boys” because he was always one proud Pawpaw!
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, an older sister Meda Boyde. He is survived by his devoted wife Jean Burroughs, son Corey Flanagan and wife Tiffany, daughter Kristi Dawn Flanagan. His brother Billy Burroughs and sisters Sarah Farley and Kay Scalera and several nieces and nephews. Six grandsons Nathan Jackson of Lubbock, TX, Jonathan “Pip” Jackson of Colorado City, TX, Trinnon Jackson and his wife Kenzie of Loraine, TX. Cooper, Cason Luke, Jake Tate Flanagan of Lubbock, TX and three great Kingston, Kabryn, and Kenzlee Jackson.
He was a good husband, father, Pawpaw, and great-Pawpaw who is loved and missed dearly.
A Celebration of Life for Bob will be held in the Kiker Seale Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, October 14th at 2pm with Doctor Jerry Shields officiating and Raymond Bassinger assisting.
