Mrs. Ruby Brookshire, age 87, of Colorado City, died Saturday, May, 10, 2014, afternoon in a local care center. Graveside services will be at 1:30 PM Tuesday, May 13, 2014, in the Dorn Cemetery with Rev. James Williams officiating. Services are under the care and direction of Kiker-Seale Funeral Home.
Mrs. Brookshire was born June 29, 1926, in Paducah, Texas to William E. and Cora Mae Bailey Ellis and had been a resident of Mitchell County since 1988. She married Mitchell Brookshire on November 22, 1942 in Cottle County, Texas. He preceded her in death on April 19, 2005. She was a member of the Dorn Methodist Church.
She is survived by a daughter, Tommie and husband, James Williams of Colorado City; a son, Jackie Brookshire of Colorado City; a sister, Willie Mae Nolan of Paducah; 4 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
