Stanley Andrew Moore, 69, of San Angelo, Texas, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, December 4, 2015. He passed away at home with his loving family by his side. Stanley was born on March 18, 1946, in Loraine, Texas to Marlin and Ruth Woods Moore
Stanley was a hard-working man who always put his God and his family before all else. Those that met Stanley learned quickly that he was one of the most honest people they would meet and that he was both giving and forgiving, as he could not hold a grudge. Stanley served his country in the Army during the Vietnam War and earned a Bronze Star Medal. He was a graduate of McMurry University in Abilene, Texas, where he attended on a football scholarship playing as a defensive back. After his college years, the majority of his focus was on working in his cotton fields and being the best husband, father, and grandfather he could be. He always made sure to find time to coach or watch his children’s sports and, later in life, he watched his grandchildren in their sports and activities.
Stanley is survived by his wife of over 45 years, Janet Moore, by his daughter Brooke Weldon and husband Daryl of San Angelo, his son Michael Moore of Austin, and his son Kyle Moore and wife Bea of Hurst. He is also survived by his grandchildren Jeremy Cooper and wife Kirstie of Fort Worth, Brittney Weldon and Chelsea Weldon of San Angelo, Haley Moore and Lauren Moore of Hurst and by his great-grandson Caleb Stanley Cooper of Fort Worth. Also surviving are his two sisters, Margie Pinkerton of Turkey, Texas, and Wanda Bynum and husband Ray of Junction. He was also loved and survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
Stanley was preceded in death by his parents Marlin and Ruth Moore, his brother-in-law Billy Pinkerton, and a by a nephew Paul Bynum.
